‘Counting On’ Jill Duggar Slammed Over Setting Boundaries

Counting On followers often slam Jill Duggar Dillard. In fact, it seems she gets a lot of criticism for things her husband Derick Dillard does. She’s not on the current filming schedule for the reality TV show. Presumably, that’s because of Derick’s homophobic comments about Jazz Jennings. However, that doesn’t stop people from following her on social media. Now, some followers slammed Jill over setting boundaries.

‘Counting On’ – bath time at the Dillard’s

Jill took to Instagram to post up a nice picture of the two boys playing during bath time. How does that lead to boundaries? Well, fans scrutinize every picture for some little clue that may be praiseworthy or slammed. Depending on which side of the Duggar family people take, different opinions arise. This time, the photo shows part of a book. Apparently, Jill likes reading while the boys bath. The book opened to Chapter 5 titled, “Ten Laws of Boundaries.”

Some Counting On watchers immediately recognized the book as ‘Boundaries’ by Dr. Henry Cloud. The book synopsis on Amazon explains that the book teaches people how to set limits and boundaries. Obviously, if it’s in the hands of a Duggar, it’s from a Christian viewpoint. The content addresses “physical boundaries” that help us determine who may touch us and under what circumstances.” Additionally, it covers:

  • Mental boundaries – that teaches independent opinions and thoughts,
  • Emotional boundaries  – which basically teaches about dealing with toxic relationships, and
  • Spiritual boundaries.

Counting On: Comment on Jill Duggar Dillard’s book choice

Fans commented on what an excellent message comes through reading the book. @mayimsmom noted, “If that’s the Henry Cloud and John Townsend book, I can’t recommend it enough. Good pick!” Meanwhile, @lizmackenzie1 agreed it was a great book, posting, “Such a great book! Healed so many relationships for me!” Helpfully, @maudielovescam explained the contents to other followers: “Boundaries book. Very good for dealing with toxic family members or friends!” Mind you, seeing that Jill’s gotten loads of toxicity, that might not be a bad read for her.

Naturally, as the photo’s up on a Dillard account, some people found a way to slam Jill. One follower suggested Derick going to school should be a “no” boundary. Incidentally, for those who don’t know, Derick went back to school this year to study law. Many Counting On fans criticized him for that. They believe Derick should rather get a proper job to help support his family. Just a simple bible quote on Twitter’s enough to get people going!

Setting boundaries theme devolves into slamming

One person felt that Jill should focus on setting social media boundaries. Actually, the photo showed the little boys in the bath. However, there were no personal bits showing. Nevertheless, @jennc26533 slammed Jill over that by writing: “I would NEVER post anything like this with my children bathing, especially if you have a public account!!!!! There are way too many weirdos out there. Have some decorum for your children’s safety!!!” In response, @emnkate4life grew angry at the mom shaming. They pointed out there’s nothing to see. Additionally, “their faces are pretty much turned and there isn’t a single thing wrong with the picture.”

What do you think about Jill Duggar Dillard getting into boundaries? Do you think she needs to set boundaries for Derick? Did she overstep the boundary by posting up the photo of her boys bathing?
