‘Counting On’: Jessa Duggar Says Being a Parent Is ‘Upsetting’

Counting On‘s Jessa Duggar Seewald is always calm, cool, and collected. But it does seem like there is one thing that can upset her—parenting.

Counting On: Jessa Duggar Seewald Has Kids Quickly

27-year-old Jessa Duggar Seewald is the mother of three young children. Her husband, Ben Seewald, is often home to help her. He works as a tutor for the Duggar family from Counting On, so he doesn’t have an outside job to keep him away.

TLC’s Jessa has a lot of help from her husband, but she still does a lot of work on her own with the kids. She’s done projects from building a play structure in the backyard to setting up story-time.

Most people think Jessa Duggar is pretty calm. But recently, she told viewers that some things about motherhood did upset her. She shared her feeling about having children and how it is different from life before kids.

Jessa Duggar Remembers Life Before Children

Counting On star Jessa Duggar said that life before children was simpler. In fact, she said that it is “upsetting” to think you can’t do what you want. You have another human to think about and can’t do what you want to do.

She also said that the kids were worth the feelings of frustration. Jessa said she loved her children very much. And that they made her life so interesting. She had a hard time looking at the camera, and it was almost as if she felt guilt for her confession.

Whatever the case, her sister-in-law, new mom Abbie Duggar, said that she felt very much the same. She and “John Boy” couldn’t just hop in the car and go anymore after the birth of their baby Grace Duggar of Counting On.

Counting On: Having Babies Too Young?

Some critics of Counting On don’t think it’s a good idea for the Duggar kids to have babies so young. And refer to the young men and women as babies having babies. But Jessa says that having kids goes by so quickly and that you should cherish every moment.

Not long ago, Jessa Duggar showed a picture pushing little Ivy Duggar on the swing and said Ivy is growing so fast. Ivy recently turned one-year-old, and it seems like her mom is having a hard time letting her grow up. As of right now, it seems like Jessa doesn’t plan on having more children.

Deciding whether or not to have children isn’t normal for the Duggars. In fact, they believe that people should “let God decide” how many children they have.
