‘Cobra Kai’: The Epic Conclusion – Sixth and Final Season Renewed by Netflix

Cobra Kai, the hit Netflix series that continues The Karate Kid story, has been renewed. According to creator Josh Heald, Season 6 is set to come out soon and it will be the final season.

Cobra Kai: Season 6 – A Look at What’s to Come

Netflix Cobra Kai fans can expect the return of familiar faces and new characters. And more intense karate action and drama as the story picks up from the cliffhanger ending of Season 5. At the end of the last season, John Kreese (Martin Kove) escaped from prison.

According to Looper, Martin Kove didn’t want to come back to the show because he was typecast. He wanted a great storyline. And boy did the writers deliver. The character ended Season 5 with a bang. So, it looks like Season 6 is primed for action.

With the return of familiar faces and new characters, the final season of Cobra Kai promises to deliver an exciting and unforgettable viewing experience.

And, if the Netflix promo is any indication… Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) will have one last knock down fight.

According to Collider, Ralph Macchio felt that his character was only there to be a thorn in the side of Johnny. And he’s not wrong. So, we can expect Cobra Kai Season 6 to feature more of Daniel taking matters into his own hands without Johnny.

Cobra Kai: The Creators Say Farewell and Announce the Show’s Final Season

Cobra Kai creators announced in a statement on Friday that the hit Karate Kid spin-off will be ending on Netflix.

“Reacquainting the world with the Karate Kid universe has been our humble honor,” said creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. “Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms.”

The upcoming season is the end of the popular series. But fans can take solace in the fact that the show’s fifth season was a critical and commercial success. So, if Season 6 is another smash hit… who knows. Maybe the producers will make another season.

Why Netflix Loves to End Popular Series

Netflix has an annoying tendency to end its original series after only a few seasons. This trend can be seen in popular shows like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, and now Cobra Kai. Many of these shows have high ratings and would last forever if on network TV.

But streaming services run on a different business model than broadcast TV shows. Services, like Netflix, start to get diminishing returns the more seasons they add to a popular series.

Because they need to add subscribers, it doesn’t matter to a new subscriber if a show like Cobra Kai has 6 or 10 seasons. They are joining to start watching Season 1.

So, by getting rid of one show, they make room in the budget for new shows. These decisions are not always well received by fans and critics. And Cobra Kai has one of their biggest fan bases. Hopefully this is not the end, because as we’ve learned, Cobra Kai Never Dies.
