90 Day Fiance: Varya Malina Becomes Medical Research Patient

Varya Malina spent the night in the hospital. But she wasn’t there because she was sick or injured. The 90 Day Fiance cast member was there for a good cause. She participated in a research study. She had to stay there for 24 hours and have her vitals monitored the whole time.

According to Varya, the research study was to see how depression and anxiety treatment affects blood pressure. She has been open about her struggles with mental health.

She even sees a therapist. So, now it seems like she is trying to help others by seeing what this medication can do to their well-being.

However, Varya Malina had to prove that she was healthy enough to participate in the medical study. A few weeks prior, she went through multiple tests. And it seems like she passed them all.

Most of the time, participants in medical research get paid for their time. So, there’s a good chance that the 90 Day Fiance reality star walked away with a few extra bucks in her pocket.

Varya Faces Fears for Study

Varya Malina had to do a few tests before starting the medical trial. And that meant facing two of her fears. She hates needles. She also is afraid of blood, even her own. However, she had to take out a few vials of blood before starting the trial.

Varya was also hooked up to a heart monitor. The 90 Day Fiance celeb explained that every time her heart rate went below 50, it would print out a piece of paper stating the number. According to the TLC star, after 10 minutes, the paper was “as long as a receipt from Walgreens.”

Varya also had a nurse come by every 20 minutes to check on her. The nurse would look at her heart rate and blood pressure. They would see if there are any changes to it.

90 Day Fiance Celeb Struggles to Eat & Sleep

Varya Malina wasn’t able to eat during the beginning stages of the medical trial. So, she was starving. She had even almost passed out after taking out so much blood. She wanted some glucose to recover.

So, after a few checks on the 90 Day Fiance star’s heart rate and blood pressure, she was given her first meal. But she didn’t like the food. However, she did eat everything. Yet, when dinner came around, she was happy that it was better than her lunch.

Varya’s night at the hospital wasn’t ideal. She was woken up every two hours until five in the morning to measure her blood pressure. So, she didn’t sleep well.

According to the TLC castmate, around seven in the morning, the new nurses coming in for their shift talked and laughed “so loud.” So, she didn’t get a chance to sleep. Yet, hopefully, her participation in the trial was helpful.
