’90 Day Fiance’: Tom Brooks Did Not Date Roucelle – More TLC Scripting?
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days new cast member Tom Brooks was shown with “ex-lover” Roucelle on a recent episode. But, it looks like their relationship isn’t as close as TLC cameras portray. Digging into his backstory and spotting inconsistencies has become a popular hobby among TLC faithful. In the last episode of the spinoff, Tom Brooks claimed he dated Roucelle. She is the woman he and Darcey hung out with. But, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is this another instance of scripting from the network? What’s the scoop?
90 Day Fiance: Tom Brooks and Roucelle Not an Item?
Ever since Darcey first introduced her new man following her train wreck with Jesse Meester, there has been a level of interest surrounding Tom Brooks. He likes to portray the image of a playboy online. And, there has been an ongoing debate among 90 Day Fiance fans regarding who catfished who because Tom looks drastically different on the show compared to his Instagram photos.
90 Day Fiance cameras introduced viewers to Roucelle on Before the 90 Days. Tom Brooks told Darcey Silva they’ve been friends for years and previously dated. But, the reality seems to be far different from the narrative on the show. The latest tea says he and Roucelle have known each other for roughly a year and had lunch once. But, it doesn’t seem like there was ever anything more than that between them according to people online that seem to know their background.
90 Day Fiance: TLC Scripting Darcey Silva and Tom’s Storyline?
Cracks in the Tom Brooks story first started to appear soon after the new season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days aired. It was uncovered that the London man took images from various resorts and luxury items from other people online. He re-posted the pics on his IG as his own in what’s called fake flexing. He made it look like he had been to these exotic locations himself and owned luxury items, like expensive watches. But, he was caught trying to pass these pictures off as his own, sometimes by the original owners of the photos. Later, he tried to do damage control by saying they were paid promotions. But, the cat was already out of the bag by that point.
In addition, an inside source said to Soap Dirt that Jesse Meester initially filmed for the current season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. But, the network kicked Darcey’s former lover to the curb in favor of Tom. Perhaps the network scrambled to get footage and patched Darcey and Tom’s storyline together following Jesse’s exit. That might explain the numerous inconsistencies in Tom Brooks’ storyline coming out on a regular basis.
Tom Brooks says on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days that no one knows him as well as Roucelle. It makes it seem like she has been in his life a long time. And, that the pair know each other well. But, with everything coming to the surface now, Roucelle seems more like a plot device to further the narrative than a genuine friend to Tom. Either way, most 90 Day Fiance watchers don’t seem to buy it.
Is Darcey in on It?
With all the fraud talk around Tom Brooks this season, many 90 Day Fiance watchers wonder whether Darcey Silva is in on it too. The inside source revealed to SD that Darcey is a huge draw for Sharp Entertainment. So much so, that she has her own Production Assistant. Perhaps including Tom Brooks on the show was a way for the network to get Darcey in front of the camera again to pull in more views – and bucks.
Currently, this is all speculation. But, given what the source revealed about how important Darcey is to the network and the recent speculation surrounding Roucelle, it isn’t a stretch that maybe TLC scripted the entire Tom Brooks narrative to generate views and boost drama.
