90 Day Fiance: Jenny Slatten Needs Security

This couple became a fan-favorite very quickly on  90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, one of TLC’s franchises of 90 Days Fiance reality shows. Jenny, who is 62, left everything she had accumulated in her life here in the US to move to India to marry Sumit, who is 33.

While she’s living with him in India, she still has to return to America every six months because she’s not legally his wife. Once they marry the visa status changes and she can live Happily Ever After with her 90 Day Fiance turned husband in India.

The Other Way: Fear Drives Marriage Bus For Sumit Singh

90 Day Fiance viewers witnessed just how hard it was for Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten to get together in India. The biggest obstacle came with Sumit’s wife. It didn’t look like a divorce would come easy for his first marriage.

Unlike the way Sumit met Jenny, his first marriage was arranged for him by his family. So when Jenny first arrived in India as part of this TLC show, Sumit Singh had a wife. He wanted to disband this arranged marriage and marry Jenny Slatten. But that wasn’t going to happen as quickly as Sumit assumed.

The stress over his obligations to his wife but wanting Jenny Slatten in his life took a toll on Sumit. In the end, it cost his father $20,000 to get that divorce finally pushed through.

Because he felt stuck in that marriage and at times looking as if there was no way out, he’s got a serious fear of matrimony. He learned the hard way how his marriage became a commitment that looked almost impossible to break at one point.

So, now that he’s free to marry again, he’s a bit worried about doing so. He did say that he believes his 90 Day Fiance partner, Jenny Slatten is different. Since they’re happy now, he sees this a bit differently than his previous marriage.

90 Day Fiance: Future Children A Problem?

Jenny Slatten and her future husband were scrutinized by the audience for a few reasons. Their age difference took a beating as well as Sumit’s marital status during the show. Jenny shed a good many tears, much like in the video below. She breaks down over constantly being judged.

But it also looks like this 90 Day Fiance couple is already at odds even before entering the institution of marriage. While Sumit Singh says that he’s happy with how things are right now and kids don’t enter into that picture, he does leave the future possibility open.

Maybe down the line adoption would be something he’d consider. This way they can give a kid already here a home they need.

But when it’s Jenny Slatten’s turn to talk about what Sumit Singh said about, kids, she offers no possibility. For Jenny, the thought of having children in the future, via adoption or surrogate birth, that’s a definite no.

This 90 Day Fiance alum said kids aren’t in the cards for her. Kids are out of the realm of possibility as far as her future is concerned, no matter how they would arrive.
