Avery and Omar are the first Muslim couple to appear on the TLC program. There’s definitely some controversy surrounding this couple. Especially since Omar is from war-torn Syria. Avery addressed a number of misconceptions about herself following her television debut. What did she reveal?

Avery Mills recently did an interview with John Yates. One of the topics of discussion had to do with the backlash the young woman has received from 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days watchers. One of the easy targets to pick on is her age. Avery Mills said she was 19 when she filmed her season. Many 90 Day Fiance watchers think she is naive and making bad decisions, especially where Omar Albakkour is concerned.

Omar Albakkour’s girlfriend Avery Mills tried to shoot those claims down. While on 90 Day Fiance she seems confident in the decisions, her family points out that she’s young, impulsive and never sticks to her plans. Her brother Evan told the story about Avery’s short-lived time as a vegetarian. He said she became a vegetarian but would sneak fried chicken up to her room.

 

90 Day Fiance: Avery Mills Talks About Common Misconceptions

Avery Mills also addressed some of the common misconceptions surrounding this 90 Day Fiance couple. One of the biggest is viewers believing she converted to be with Omar Albakkour. She admitted that she converted to Islam before she met her 90 Day Fiance. She also added that they met through a Muslim dating app called muzmatch. Avery admitted that there was a time she didn’t think she would convert to Islam.

One of the popular topics among 90 Day Fiance viewers concerning this couple is the potential danger of the American woman moving to Syria. It’s a war-torn nation and there are ISIS concerns. There’s also a travel ban keeping Syrians like Omar Albakkour from entering the United States.

The U.S Department has issued a travel advisory for Syria. The advisory is a level 4 “Do Not Travel” ranking. It’s the highest level possible.  Syria received the travel advisory due to terrorism and civil unrest. Americans are especially targeted for “kidnapping and armed conflict” according to the State Department. The official warning says that “No part of Syria is safe from violence”.

The 90 Day Fiance cast member couldn’t reveal where she or Omar is now. But, Avery did say they chose to meet in Lebanon for the first time instead of Syria for safety reasons.

What to Expect from Avery and Omar Albakkour

There’s definitely a lot of drama and controversy surrounding Omar Albakkour and Avery Mills. Months ago when they were first confirmed as part of the new cast, the chatter started up. Many watchers believe Avery is naive and putting her life at risk.

Meanwhile, she believes everything will work out in the end. Due to the non-disclosure agreement she signed, she couldn’t reveal where she or Omar Albakkour are. But, it certainly looks like she could be somewhere in the Middle East.

Avery Mills admitted seeing herself on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days was a “strange” and “weird” experience. A common concern is whether or not what is shown on television is true to life. She said her portrayal so far on the show is “pretty accurate”. She also said her Syrian 90 Day Fiance is a “nice and sincere person”.
