90 Day Fiance: Kalani Faagata Talks about Divorce

90 Day Fiance couple Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata have been on the rocks in their relationship for some time. Since fans have seen the couple in action, Kalani has waivered a few times. She says she loves her husband but isn’t sure if that is enough anymore. She has gone to see a divorce lawyer to see what would happen if she actually went through with a divorce. While this is obviously a last resort option, she thinks it might be time.

Her father, Low Faagata, is very against this idea. He thinks that Kalani and Asuelu should work through their problems and stay married. And Asuelu knows that Kalani has talked about splitting up before, but he has no clue she would go that far to seek legal counsel. The couple is constantly fighting and seems like they are slowly pulling apart.

90 Day Fiance shows Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata trying to fight for their marriage. Asuelu says that he wants to stop fighting and thinks it’s important for their future. He even tried to prove his changes to Kalani by being welcoming toward Kalani’s sister, Kolini Faagata when she was moving in with them. He said he wanted to spruce up the place and make sure she was comfortable.

This was a shock for both Kalani and fans, seeing as Kolini and Asuelu don’t really see eye to eye. And for people to watch him cry over the fact that he wanted to change for his family was heartwarming. But fights did still pop up and they no longer share a bed upsets Kalani. She and her father met with a lawyer and found out that because Low Faagata co-signed for Asuelu to come to the USA, he is financially responsible for him for the rest of his life. This was a shocking twist because the law was previously for ten years only.

90 Day Fiance’s Asuelu Pulaa was told by Low Faagata that he needed to take the threat of divorce seriously. A car accident has Kalani Faagata realizing she doesn’t want to lose Asuelu and in turn pushes their relationship into high gear. They realize they don’t want to lose each other, so Asuelu plans a romantic getaway for the pair. But Kalani says her mom and the kids need to come. Lisa Faagata tags along, but the couple doesn’t let that kill their vibe.

And while the destination wasn’t exactly what Kalani had pictured, she appreciated her husband for trying. They shared drinks and a fun night in a cabin alone together. The couple also talks about how to communicate differently around a fire. They talk about how Asuelu needs to control his anger better when things get tense. They both agree that ‘afi’ will be their word for when one person is getting too mad. This means fire in Samoan.

Asuelu Pulaa from 90 Day Fiance did not know about his wife’s visit to a divorce lawyer. Kalani Faagata says she needs to tell him so they can have no secrets between them. But she says she expects this to be hard because of the way Asuelu has acted in the past, and this is a big upset. When the couple has some alone time while sightseeing, she breaks the news to him, and fans are shocked by the way he reacts.

He says he feels betrayed and angry. So instead of yelling, he uses ‘afi’ to tell her his feelings. He starts crying and heads to a tree farther away to sit in and think. Asuelu says he wants to calm down so they can talk. He says he doesn’t want his anger to control him. He heads back to his wife and asks her to hug him because she made him sad. She cried and hugged him, saying how sorry she is. He explains he didn’t know she was so serious about getting divorced. But he says he wants to be with her forever.
