On 1000-lb Sisters, Amy Slaton talks about how she didn’t have a lot of people in her life during her childhood. She says it’s always just been her and her sister, Tammy Slaton. Also, she says she always knew that they would only have each other.
Next, Amy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters says she grew up “very poor.” Also, she goes on to explain they grew up mostly eating fast food. But, there would be times where their parents weren’t able to afford fast food, so they wouldn’t have something to eat. Yet, there were other times where the church would give them food to eat when they couldn’t afford meals.
Also, Amy from 1000-lb Sisters says she had five other siblings. So, her mom works three jobs to make sure there was enough money to make sure everyone was taken care of. But, she says they didn’t get a lot of love and affection while she grew up. Instead, she says her childhood was the opposite, where they were told she’s stupid and lazy.

On 1000-lb Sisters, Amy Slaton shows off the unhealthy way she goes about brushing her teeth. She uses an electric toothbrush to get the plaque off of her teeth. But, right after she spits her toothpaste out of her mouth, she starts to eat her breakfast. Before she flosses or rinses out with mouth wash, she bites down on a piece of pumpkin pie and washes it down with a soda. After she eats and takes a sip of her drink on 1000-lb Sisters, she goes back to brushing her teeth.

Amy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters takes care of her older sister, Tammy Slaton. She talks about how her sister, Tammy, is too large to take care of herself. So, she helps her sister out by showering her.
But, that isn’t all Amy does to help out her family members. Tammy Slaton, Amy’s sister, is under the full-time care of her sister because she can’t move her body around. So, Amy does all of the grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and laundry for her sister. Yet, she feels guilty about Tammy’s size, because she used to put her food on her sister’s plate when she was younger. So, she worries she’s the one responsible for Tammy’s size.
