1000-lb Sisters has Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton, who has made a name for themselves on their own. The pair became well known because they would make videos documenting their life. Many of the videos consisted of make-up tutorials, eating food while talking, cooking, and so much more. Amy and Tammy had a small following from the beginning but soon started to pick up traction.
Tammy and Amy are sisters larger than life who live in Kentucky. They live a simple life of being funny for people’s amusement. After gaining a large enough following, they cut a deal with TLC to have the next chapter in their life be filmed and put on tv. The sisters then embarked on a weight loss journey that brought them to where fans know them today.
TLC Star Does Something New
1000-lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton explains that growing up, they never had money to do certain things. Ever since she and Tammy Slaton got their own show, they have been doing a lot more. For instance, all of a sudden, weight loss surgery became available to help turn their life around. Tammy is still working towards that goal, but Amy has already taken advantage of it and is living a new life. She became pregnant and led her dream of becoming a mother.

In addition, Amy has been able to go on trips with her husband, Michael Halterman. They went on a honeymoon and a babymoon and take trips with their son Gage Halterman. They are also able to afford a new house that the couple is on the hunt for now. But another thing Amy is excited she can do is take her mom out for Mother’s Day. She explains that they were never able to really do anything in the past because money was tight. But now, she takes her mom to get in touch with their past.

Amy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters and Tammy Slaton take their mom Darlene Rednour out to celebrate Mother’s Day. They settle on going to high tea, which Tammy says is drinking tea in the morning. They explain that their manners may not be the best at the restaurant, but they have family from the past that can make up for that. Amy says to Tammy, “B***h, we got royalty in our blood.” And she means that literally.
Soap Dirt shares that Amy reveals her great uncle keeps a record of the family tree. She says it goes back several generations. Amy explains that her grandmother “eight greats” back was the Queen Of England. She doesn’t say which one or show the family tree. So fans will just have to take her word for it.
