‘Young and the Restless’: Is Thom Bierdz Coming Back as Phillip Chancellor III?

All this talk about the will has people asking if Thom Bierdz is coming back to Young and the Restless as Phillip Chancellor III. With the challenge on Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) estate handling, it begs the question of who’s behind it.

No doubt, it’s a family member, but which one? Chance Chancellor’s name was dropped a few times and now, there’s chatter about Phillip Chancellor III, last played by Thom Bierdz. Here’s the latest Y&R scoop on CBS comings and goings.

Young and the Restless: Phillip Chancellor III Last Spotted Hiking

Y&R spoilers remind a mention that Phillip Chancellor III and Chance were hiking in the Himalayans last Summer. Then there’s been nothing much on them until Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) mentioned his involvement with Chance in Las Vegas.

Then, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) brought him up again with regards to the will challenge. She said he mentioned a scheme to bring him big money. That’s troubling. When she and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) talked it out, Phillip III wasn’t a top concern.

However, the CBS soap might be bringing more than one Chancellor back on the scene. Young and the Restless spoilers tease there could be a Chancellor revival as part of the wave of “iconic” returns. If so, is Thom Bierdz part of this action?

Y&R Casting: Should We Expect Thom Bierdz and New Chance Chancellor?

The Young and the Restless spoilers chatter is that the soap may recast Chance Chancellor. But if Phillip Chancellor III is part of this, it looks like Thom Bierdz is available. If you check him out on IMDB, he’s not busy acting right now.

It’s been three years since his last acting role in Old Dogs & New Tricks, an Indie comedy series. But primarily, Thom Bierdz isn’t an actor at all these days. He’s an award-winning portrait artist and activist – as well as a published author.

But at the peak of Thom’s Young and the Restless success, his brother killed their mother while dealing with long-undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenia. Later, he killed himself in prison. Thom Bierdz wrote a book about it years after the fact.

Young and the Restless: Cheated Chancellors Team Up to Take on Devon?

You may recall from Y&R spoilers years ago that Devon got the lion’s share of Katherine Chancellor’s estate. He got 75% while a mere 25% was shared between Phillip Chancellor III, Chance Chancellor, Mackenzie Browning (Kelly Kruger), Brock Reynolds (Beau Kayser), and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast). So, that means they each got 5% while Devon got 75%. There’s got to be some long-simmering hard feelings over that.

Young and the Restless spoilers hint that it could be just one of the other heirs coming back at Devon – or it could be a group effort. The only of these characters seen recently was Mackenzie in January 2019. So, it could be a thrill to see all these beloved faces back – even if it’s to battle Devon in court.
