Young and the Restless comings and goings have fans asking where is Chance Chancellor on Y&R and is Donny Boaz sick? Here’s the info on what happened to the actor that did play Chance and who’s playing him now on the CBS soap opera.
Where is Chance Chancellor on Young and the Restless – Donny Boaz Illness?
You might have asked where is Chance on Y&R when you saw an unfamiliar face recently. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) spoke to a new guy that turned out to be Chance Chancellor. Obviously, there’s an actor swap — but who’s the new guy, and why does he look familiar?
The first thing to know in Young and the Restless comings and goings is that, yes, Donny Boaz was sick. He confirmed it. Chance on Y&R has COVID – or at least the actor does. He said he “tested positive” but “didn’t have any symptoms.” However, that meant Donny had to exit.
The Young and the Restless actor confirmed he quarantined and said viewers wouldn’t see him for “a bit” as Chance Chancellor. So, that begs the question — who is playing Chance on Y&R now? Well, the answer is that it’s the actress who plays Abby Newman’s real-life husband.
Who is Playing Chance Chancellor Now on Y&R?
Young and the Restless comings and goings reveal Justin Gaston, Mel Ordway’s husband, is now in the role of Chance Chancellor. He stepped in when Donny got his COVID diagnosis. Another piece of info is that Donny’s positive test was from routine testing, not because he was sick.
You might recognize Justin, the new Chance Chancellor, from Young and the Restless from Days of our Lives. He played Ben Weston (now Robert Scott Wilson) on DOOL. Since then, Justin’s done some movies and appeared on The Haves and Have Nots.
So, Y&R comings and goings say we’ve got a couple more weeks of the new Chance. And it’ll be Justin and Melissa getting married as the detective and Abby, not the other actor. So watch for more of Mel’s hubby in the role of Chance Chancellor on Young and the Restless.
When Will Donny Boaz be Back on Young and the Restless?
The actor who plays Chance Chancellor said last week that he’s now back to work. So with about four weeks from Y&R taping to airdates, we should see Donny back as Chance in middle-to-late December. So, he might not get to play the wedding but could be there for the honeymoon.
The good news is the Young and the Restless actor had a symptomless experience with the virus and is back on the set. So, Donny Boaz’s illness was no big deal — it seems. And while the actor had it, Chance on Y&R having COVID isn’t going to happen – as they don’t have the virus on the soap.
So, keep watching Young and the Restless to see Justin Gaston pinch-hit. And that also means we might have some “real” Chance-Abby love scenes since spouses can do love scenes on the CBS soaps. Watch and see if Chance Chancellor heats up with his bride soon as they have their wedding.
