‘Welcome to Plathville’: Ethan & Olivia Distance Themselves From Controlling Parents
Welcome To Plathville stars Ethan Plath and his wife Olivia Plath‘s relationship with his parents Kim Plath and Barry Plath was always rocky. Last season, we saw the young couple try their best to deal with tensions between them. However, any progress made since we last saw the family was lost. As season 2 debuts, we learn Ethan and his wife Olivia make the hard decision to distance themselves from the family and its drama.

Welcome To Plathvile newlyweds Olivia Plath and Ethan Plath thought married life would allow them to live their lives without the strict rules Ethan grew up with. However, they quickly learned their I Do’s brought about another can of worms they didn’t see coming. Ethan’s mother Kim blamed the rift with her son and the family on her new daughter in law.
In fact, the young couple wasn’t allowed to see Ethan’s younger Welcome To Plathville siblings without one of his parents present. Additionally, Ethan’s teenaged siblings, Micah Plath and Moriah Plath, tested boundaries and sought their own paths. Of course, Olivia’s blamed for their disobedience. No matter what he and Olivia did, his parents misconstrued it.
So with a heavy heart, Ethan had no choice but to distance himself from his parents. His new marriage to Olivia was on the brink of divorce. His parents’ iron rule threatened the future of his marriage. So, to avoid the stress and strain from Barry and his wife Kim, Ethan choose to cut ties with his folks and focus on saving his marriage to Olivia Plath as seen on Welcome To Plathville.
Kim & Barry Plath Move Closer
This season on Welcome To Plathville, we see the Plath family divided into three houses. Kim, Barry, and the younger Plath siblings leave farm life behind. The family buys their dream home in the city. It’s quite an adjustment for the family.
However, their move certainty strikes an odd chord with Welcome To Plathville’s Ethan and Olivia Plath. Ethan’s determined to live his best life without his parents a part of it. However, that’s awfully difficult when they move just two blocks away. No doubt the younger Plath couple is suspicious of the elder Plaths’ motives.
Welcome To Plathville: Newlyweds Embrace Their Wild Side
This season Ethan and his spouse Olivia Plath will do things his Welcome To Plathville family would frown upon. Since the couple is spending little to no time with his parents and younger siblings, they have plenty of free time to try new and fun things together.
Olivia’s already introduced Ethan to soda and adult beverages. So he’s ready to branch out further from the bubble in which he was raised. Ethan Plath and his bride Olivia will travel by plane to California on Welcome To Plathville. While there, Olivia finds peace as she and Ethan explore their spiritual sides.
However, they’ll also do something wild — at least in his parents’ eyes — as he and Olivia Plath get their first tattoos. Certainly, they’re living their best lives free from the judgemental and controlling ways of Kim and Barry Plath.
