My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore‘s cat Henchi is not feeling well. This past week a sneak peek of the first episode of the new season was released on the TLC app. It’s there we learn Whitney’s sweet kitty is not acting like himself. Of course, Henchi is the closest thing to a child for Whitney, so no doubt she is concerned especially when the vet mentions Henchi could have cancer.
As Whitney Thore explained on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Henchi was not taking the the constant back and forth trips between Greensboro and Charlotte well. Also, being new to Charlotte, Whitney didn’t have a vet yet to take Henchi to get examined. Here’s what we know about Henchi’s health crises.
MBFFL returns for season 7 Tuesday, January 7 on TLC.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Henchi Is Whitney Thore’s Favorite Cat
My Big Fat Fabulous Life’s Whitney Thore makes it quite well know which of her three cats is her favorite. Recall, she’s the cat-mom of three. Besides Henchi, there’s Ollie and Wanda. But Henchi is by far the former Big Girls Dance Class instructor’s favorite.
Henchi has been with the My Big Fat Fabulous Life alum the longest. In fact, Whitney Thore adopted Henchi twelve years ago when she was living in Korea just after graduating college. No doubt these two got each other through a lot of tough times as well as shared many happy memories.

MBFFL: Henchi’s Health Scare
However in May of this year, while the My Big Fat Fabulous Life celeb was carting Henchi back and forth between her house in Greensboro and her tiny apartment in Charlotte, she noticed Henchi wasn’t acting like himself. Whitney Thore just attributed it to trauma from the upheaval. But Henchi was not bouncing back. So Whitney finally found a local vet in Charlotte to examine him.
Sadly, the vet needed to run tests to diagnosis sweet Henchi. In fact, the vet prepared Whitney that Henchi could have cancer. However, this possibility devastated Whitney. Additionally, she dreaded to tell her mom Babs the news. Babs loves Henchi as if he was her third child.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life: The Cat Doing Well Today
Everyone’s favorite cat from MBFFL seems to be fine these days and Whitney Thore often posts pictures of her fur kid. That cat’s well-loved and well cared for. Perhaps Henchi’s brush with a cancer diagnosis sparked her to make some changes to ensure Henchi has many more years of love with the Thore family.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life is back only on TLC on Tuesday, January 7th. at 8 pm.
