Married at First Sight fan-favorites recently delivered the latest MAFS baby. Even with a lot of divorces on the Lifetime show, there are a handful of success stories. Staying married beyond Decision Day is its own accomplishment. But, having a baby takes things to a whole new level. See which couple had a boy.
Married at First Sight: Lifetime Couple Delivers a Boy
Married at First Sight match Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner welcome their newest bundle of joy into the world – and it’s a boy. The original MAFS success story couple have been going strong since the very first season of the show in 2014. And, six years later, they have a new addition to their growing family.
Jamie Otis shares a lot of baby updates with husband Doug Hehner. And, Married at First Sight followers keeping up with the couple know she posts regular updates and keeps viewers in the loop. Meanwhile, there were some added concerns about the baby’s arrival with the COVID-19 pandemic going on.
Jamie Otis gave birth to Hayes Douglas in her New Jersey home at 3:37 pm on May 13. And, the newborn joins three-year-old sister Henley Grace. This is the second child for the Married at First Sight pair. And, he’s the latest addition to their expanding MAFS family.
Interestingly, Married at First Sight mom Jamie Otis recently served her son with a playful “eviction notice” telling him to “vacate the premises” of her belly. And, it looks like he got the notice. Because, she gave birth not long after that update. Meanwhile, the mother of two joked that her newborn son is a “very good listener”.
Doug Hehner and his wife are excited to finally welcome a son. The Married at First Sight couple lost a son in 2016 prior to having Henley Grace. And, Jamie Otis had another miscarriage early in 2019. So, it’s a big relief for the pair to welcome a healthy baby boy following their previous tragedies.
MAFS: Couple Opts for Home Birth
Even though hospitals are the safest places to give birth, Jamie Otis and spouse Doug Hehner decided to give birth at home. Jamie is a nurse, so she has medical experience. But, even so, the couple said they did a lot of research about home births before the arrival of baby Hayes.
Meanwhile, with the current COVID-19 pandemic going on, both Doug and spouse Jamie said it was the best option for them. Hospitals have tighter restrictions with lockdown in effect. And, things like limiting who can be in the delivery room is something the Married at First Sight duo considered as well.
In addition, the Married at First Sight twosome worried about what would happen to Henley if there were complications. Ultimately, their home is a controlled environment. And, they went with that. Meanwhile, from the looks of it, everything went smoothly.
What’s Next for Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis?
Doug Hehner and wife Jamie Otis have a lot of things going for them currently. In addition to being parents to their second child, they recently bought a home in Florida. Jamie and hubby Doug Hehner moved back to New Jersey in the meantime. And, they take care of things like home inspections remotely. But, they officially have their “dream house” to raise their family in.
Meanwhile, Doug and bride Jamie filmed for the upcoming Lifetime limited series Couples’ Cam. Married at First Sight favorites film themselves at home during lockdown. And, unlike with a full production crew, Couples’ Cam offers a more intimate look at fan-favorite pairs.
Added to all this, Doug Hehner’s wife hosts the Married at First Sight after show, Unfiltered. So, there’s definitely a lot going on for this couple right now. Certainly, it’s worth watching for more updates on baby Hayes Douglas as they come.
Catch the premiere of Couples’ Cam, May 20 at 8:00 pm, only on Lifetime.
