Love After Lockup’s fans are curious about Lizzie KommesPrison Pie. In Season 2 Episode 13, Lizzie fixes the dish for her fiance Scott Davey. He says he was always sending Lizzie money in prison so she could make some Prison Pie, and he’s curious to find out what it taste like.

Love After Lockup: What is Lizzie’s Prison Pie?

Because prisoners can’t bake or buy raw ingredients in the slammer, inmates like Lizzie have to find creative ways to cook.

Love After Lockup star Lizzie Kommes makes what she calls Prison Pie and says it tastes like cheesecake. It involves ingenious techniques like taking the filling from oreo cookies to use for frosting while using the shells for the crust.

Recently Lizzie Kommes made a video tutorial showing step-by-step how to make her now famous Love After Lockup Prison Pie. LAL fans are swooning over it and can’t wait to get in the kitchen and give it a shot. So, here’s a breakdown of Lizzie’s Prison Pie recipe. Try it out for yourself!

Lizzie Kommes’ Prison Pie – The Ingredients

If you don’t have access to a prison commissary, you can probably find the ingredients you need at your local grocery store, convenience store, or even a vending machine.

  • Powdered Creamer (2)
  • Duplex or Oreo Cookies (Crust)
  • Nutty Bars
  • Sierra Mist/Sprite
  • Black Cherry Kool-Aid Packets (2)

Step 1 – Make the Crust with the Cookie shells

Love After Lockup’s Lizzie says take your Oreo cookies and separate the cookie from the cream putting the cookie part in one bowl and the cream and another bowl. Then, crush the cookies with your hands to prepare your crust. Sprinkle some water on the cookies and continue to crush adding more water as needed until it comes together into a gooey ball. Set aside.

Step 2 – Make the Frosting with the Oreo Filling

Lizzie from Love After Lockup shows you take your bowl of cookie cream and add one container of powdered creamer. Then, add some Sierra Mist or Sprite a little at a time while mixing with a fork until a nice “fluffiness” forms. It gets runny quick so go slowly, notes Lizzie.

Once it begins to clump up and you get a good consistency “whisk” it rapidly with your fork until it is smooth like frosting. This is a great workout for your arms! Next, add your Kool-Aid packet and just a sprinkle of water. Mix well. You want the texture to be slightly runny because it will harden as it sits.

Step 3 – Assemble Your Love After Lockup Prison Pie

Now, no need to grease the pan Lizzie says. Just place your ball of cookie crust in the pan and spread it out to cover the bottom resembling a pie crust. Next up, Nutty Bars.

One by one, separate the Nutty Bars and line the wafers up creating a layer over your crust. Then, pour on your frosting and spread it out over the top. Additionally, you can melt down a Hershey bar and drizzle it on top. Then, it just needs to sit in the fridge overnight.

Scott Davey Never Got To Eat His Dessert

As Love After Lockup viewers saw, Scott Davey and Lizzie Kommes got into a fight and he never got to try any of Lizzie’s Prison Pie.

It’s a quick and easy dessert that can be made a tight budget especially if you swipe some of the ingredients from the condiments counter at Starbucks. Of course, you could use higher quality ingredients and a mixer. However, this is Prison Pie – made in prison. So, Lizzie Kommes says if you’re going to make it, make it right. Now, get in the kitchen and try it out.
