General Hospital Comings and Goings: Sean Blakemore Out as Fan-Fave Shawn Butler

Recently, it came out that Sean’s character Shawn Butler’s leaving GH again. After a six-year absence, Shawn came back on the scene almost a year ago.

Shawn Butler is moving out West to expand his newspaper, The Invader. However, he mentioned that the move is only temporary even though he will be out there for a while. So, it appears General Hospital is leaving an opening for Shawn to return someday.

Shawn Butler was hoping his old flame, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), would give him a reason to stay. But Alexis is not looking for romance right now, although she cares for Shawn deeply. So, sadly, Alexis is losing one friend — for now.

However, another one returns to General Hospital this week. Her BFF Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) pops back up soon and is unhappy about her bestie’s new friendship with Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel).

Cast Update: Wes Ramsey Wraps It up as Peter August

Another major casting update is the exit of super-villain Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Although Peter has come back from the dead before, this time is real. Recently, Wes shared a heartfelt goodbye expressing his gratitude.

Both to the General Hospital writers and the fans. Now, Port Charles can finally move on from Peter’s reign of terror. But there’s always a chance the powers that be could bring Wes Ramsey back in another role. So, we’ll have to wait and see.

In other big news, Jordan Ashford (formerly Briana Henry) is returning soon with a new face. The PCPD’s top cop is coming home soon from the long-term care facility.

Jordan was recuperating from her near-death experience that compromised the one kidney she had left. Soon, Tanisha Harper will take on the role of Jordan, and she is looking forward to joining the GH cast.

Tanisha is a model who’s been on Project Runway and in several music videos. And as an actress, Tanisha appeared on Bold and the Beautiful, plus several films. Indeed, we can’t wait to see her in action as Jordan.

General Hospital Casting News: Valentin Cassadine Back Soon

GH casting news is thrilled to announce that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will resurface soon. Recently, the actor confirmed that he is filming his new series Villains of Valley View. And that is why Val is MIA.

But he misses his soap family and promises that Valentin will be back in March. Then, we get to see his reaction to Peter’s death. And hopefully, he and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will pick up where they left off.

Also, Sofia Mattsson returns as Sasha Gilmore. Her big sis, Helena Mattsson, stepped in for Sofia for a few episodes. But soon, the original Sasha is back.

And she’s about to head back down the dangerous path of addiction. Plus, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) returns, and she voices some concerns soon. Most likely, about Sasha’s strange behavior.

So, soon we say farewell to Shawn Butler on GH. But there are some welcome returns and a brand-new lady commissioner coming to the ABC soap. Tune in daily.
