Days of Our Lives spoilers show Kyle Lowder‘s last day as Rex Brady is this Friday, August 9. In advance of his exit, the actor chatted with one of the soap magazines. He revealed he knew last December that Rex would ride out of Salem this Fall. In fact, the powers that be axing his character took Kyle Lowder totally off guard. Here’s a look at what he had to say about Rex Brady leaving and his unexpected culling from the cast of the NBC sudser.
Days of Our Lives: Kyle Lowder Stunned by Firing – Rex Brady Cut Out of the Blue
In his recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Kyle Lowder offered some DOOL spoilers on the details of his exit. He said he’d been at a fan even along with his soap brother Brady Black (AKA Eric Martsolf). Then, the showrunners called him into the office. That’s when he found his character was cut. He says it was a “nice conversation”.
Getting fired stinks. But them being kind about it is good to hear. Of course, this is a soap that’s got a revolving door of characters. People come and go from Salem all the time. Kyle Lowder knows that since he came and went before in the role of Brady Black. Even though it’s just business, Kyle Lowder said of his Days of Our Lives axing, “It was rough”.
As for Rex Brady’s exit, he plays rough on his way out of town, dropping some hurtful truths on his estrange wife and brother.

DOOL Spoilers: Rex Brady Gone For Now – But Not for Good?
Days of Our Lives spoilers say the other thing that Kyle Lowder revealed was that it’s a temporary write off. The actor shared also that he felt like he just got to the soap and then he had to leave. There was more he wanted to do there as Rex Brady but he wrapped in the middle of January from the NBC soap.
With their long advanced shooting schedule, that put his final episode about seven months later. Lowder said he kept very quiet about his firing because he wanted to be loyal to the soap. Lowder told SOD he was happy to be cast. Plus, he loved being back, and was sad that he had to leave Days of Our Lives.
Days of Our Lives: Grateful Kyle Lowder Had a Great Time as Rex Brady
Kyle Lowder enjoyed playing recast Rex Brady on DOOL and found it a challenge every day. And his exit was huge. This week, Rex Brady face punched his brother Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan). Then Rex’s wife and brother sleep together and Rex blows up over that too. As most men would. So, Rex Brady has some strong final words for his two betrayers.
Days of Our Lives spoilers promise Rex Brady guilt trips Eric and then tells Sarah that she’s always be second in his brother’s heart. After dropping the mic on them, Rex Brady packs his stuff and leaves Salem. It’ll be a strong ending with the door wide open for a return. As for Kyle Lowder, he jumped right into another project, filming a romantic Christmas movie.
