Counting On celeb Jill Duggar Dillard faces a holiday season this year far from the days with 19 siblings under one roof. It also looks as if she won’t grace the Counting On Christmas dinner table. But if by chance she changes her mind She also needs to abide by a rule that her father Jim Bob Duggar put in place.
Apparently, Jill Duggar’s parents, Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar still have some control over Jill, as far as visitation goes. While the pandemic changes plenty of plans for families everywhere, it seems that’s not the case for the Counting On family.
Counting On: Jill Duggar Dillard Trades One Tribe For The Other?
It appears as if the first generation of Counting On parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, had their traditional Thanksgiving. This included the company of many of their kids and grandchildren last month.
Not to mention they also had their annual fall get-together which is another Duggar tradition. So, the Duggar family didn’t squash their plans due to the pandemic.
While Jill didn’t join her Counting On brood for Thanksgiving, she did break bread with her in-laws. Yes, Jill Duggar, hubby, and kids didn’t spend Turkey Day alone.
No, it seems they went to her in-laws’ home. So apparently they didn’t mind leaving the house during a time when others heeded warnings to stay at home. Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar Dillard, along with the kids, spent the day with Derick’s mom and stepdad.
Only a Phone Call Away
Besides just spending past holidays with the big Counting On clan, Jill’s role in the festivities included much more back then. It seems she played a big part in the decorating of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s house each Christmas. But that stopped and seemingly rather abruptly.
For the last couple of years, Jill Duggar’s ties with her dad seem to unravel a bit. She finally spoke out a while back about her parent’s thoughts on her lifestyle. Apparently, they don’t approve of some of the decisions that this Counting On daughter has made in recent years.
Now with Christmas on the way, it doesn’t; look like Michelle and Jim Bob will set places for Jill, Derick, and the kids. It seems Derick Dillard revealed a while back that their little family of four must get the okay from Jim Bob to visit.
So while Jill’s family is only a phone call away for permission to visit, that has to be a hard phone call to make. It doesn’t sound like that phone call will materialize this month for permission to come to Christmas dinner.
Counting On: Jim Bob Duggar Limits Exposure to Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard?
Earlier this year Derick Dillard said publicly that Jim Bob limits Jill’s time around his Counting On home. He cited a game night that Jim Bob, Michelle, and the Duggar siblings joined in on.
They did this over the computer via Zoom. He said that Jim Bob excluded his Counting On daughter and her husband Derick Dillard from the event.
The Counting On tribe traditionally gets together for Christmas. But with the strain between this daughter and her father, it seems it’s not the ideal situation for Jill Duggar Dillard and her hubby. Maybe someday that will change but for now, it is what it is.
Derick and his wife Jill didn’t get together for Thanksgiving with their Counting On tribe. They didn’t sit down with Michelle, Jim Bob, or Jill’s siblings.
Now it also appears as if Jill and Derick Dillard won’t be looking for permission from Michelle or Jim Bob to enter the Duggar home for Christmas. Counting On fans who watched past Christmas festivities on the show remember Jill Duggar Dillard’s enthusiasm for this special day. Especially with her other siblings around.
