‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Delayed Again – Positive COVID Test Drama Sounds Like Soap Plot

Bold and the Beautiful‘s return to filming new episodes has a soap-worthy drama of its own as COVID testing results triggered issues. Here’s the latest and when B&B hopes to get back to filming after another false start on the CBS soap.

Bold and the Beautiful Filmed One Day Then Shut Down

Last week, Don Diamont was back as Bill Spencer along with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as Steffy Forrester. So, they shot some B&B scenes on June 17, 2020. Then, Katherine Kelly Lang was slated for Brooke Logan scenes the following day. But, it didn’t pan out for her.

Bold and the Beautiful shut down again due to some safety concerns. There are many hoops the CBS sudser must jump through to get everyone back to work. So, they shut off the lights for three days with a plan to resume Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Then, something else went afoul for them.

Because Bold and the Beautiful was still the first US TV show to restart filming, they’re on a learning curve. The new rules demand a COVID compliance officer on-set, social distance between actors, no love scenes, and many other hurdles. And that’s what shut them down after just one day with Bill and Steffy.

B&B Cast & Crew – Positive COVID Tests Cause “Chaos” on Set

We know on Bold and the Beautiful, you can’t trust medical tests. Soaps fake DNA tests all the time. Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) got her doc to fake medical results. So, it’s ironic that faulty test results plague CBS as they try and film new episodes. The show confirmed they had false positives.

It turns out the lab used by Bold and the Beautiful for testing returned some troubling COVID results. However, B&B producers say they have not had any positive results and denied they are “shut down.” Instead, they said the one-day delay this week was to reply to questions.

The Bold and the Beautiful rep said the California Department of Health had additional questions. Plus, they changed testing labs to accommodate better the large number of tests they’d need on an ongoing basis. Now, B&B’s looking to get back to work today.

Will Bold and the Beautiful Resume Filming This Week?

The last we’ve heard from our source at B&B, the plan was to start filming on Wednesday, June 24. We’ve reached out to see if they’re back in the studio today and will update this article once we get confirmation from our source at Bold and the Beautiful.

Deadline reported that the “chaotic situation” behind the scenes at B&B, came from positive and inconclusive results. That was reportedly because Bold and the Beautiful opted for saliva tests rather than the more invasive shove-a-giant-q-tip down your nose test.

So, it looks like the actors will have to deal with the discomfort of the standard COVID test to get back to work on Bold and the Beautiful. And we’ve heard that production’s bracing itself for more stops and starts until they figure out how to shoot soaps in the time of coronavirus.
