90 Day Fiance‘s Laura Jallali stuck in Ecuador while Coronavirus rages there – and the reason she’s still there is stunning. Our source close in South America exclusively told Soap Dirt why Laura’s chosen to stay in Ecuador when she could have left weeks ago. And it’s all about her beloved dog.
90 Day Fiance: Laura Jallali Near Coronavirus Crisis
After her split from her The Other Way husband Aladin Jallali, Canadian Laura Jallali decided to take a post-split trip to Ecuador. That turned into a several months stay while she learned to cook, surf, and spent time with new friends and her dog, Emerald.
Now, though, the 90 Day Fiance star is reportedly stuck down there because of travel restrictions from the global pandemic. One of the hot spots for Coronavirus outbreaks is Guayaquil, which is in the same province where Laura Jallali lives, roughly an hour away from her in Playas.
Things are so bad there that bodies are piling up in the street, and the disease is spreading like wildfire. Our source in Playas told us that Laura had a chance to leave Ecuador to avoid the sweeping illness, but the 90 Day Fiance star chose not to, and now we know why.
Laura Chose to Stay in Ecuador Because of Her Dog
Our source explained only to SD that Laura Jallali, from 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, had a chance to go back to Canada. In her home country of Canada the health care is better than Ecuador and it’s much safer. However, she stayed in Ecuador for the love of her pet pup Emerald. Our insider even shared that Laura’s got a back tattoo of Emerald.
Reportedly, Canadian officials set up a few flights to bring home people stuck there due to canceled flights. But, our 90 Day Fiance source told us she couldn’t bring her dog Emerald on the plane. So, rather than abandon her pet, Laura Jallali chose to stay and put her health at risk.
For now, our insider says Laura dug in her heels. She’s waiting for the Canadian embassy to offer a flight where she can take Emerald with her. Also of interest, the 90 Day Fiance cast member’s pet is a registered service dog. All the more reason to allow the dog to be on the plane, right?
COVID Concerns Increase – But Emerald’s More Important to Star of 90 Day Fiance
For now, SD’s insider tells us that Laura Jallali’s fighting with the Canadian Embassy. Because they’ve denied her right to fly with a service animal. But, Laura’s determined not to leave Emerald behind. Our source said that Laura is prepared to wait out the travel ban to stay with her dog.
That’s despite the shocking 4% COVID death rate, reported by NPR, surging near Laura Jallali’s current residence in Ecuador. The nearby city has the highest rate of coronavirus infections (and deaths) in the country. And it’s just down the road from the 90 Day Fiance alum.
Recently, Laura Jallali from The Other Way spinoff of 90 Day Fiance, shared updates on the grocery shortages there. And, Laura and Emerald delivered food to some neighbors that needed assistance. She is also making homemade wine – hopefully with more luck than she had in Qatar.
For now, it looks like Laura’s placing love for her pet over her health concerns with COVID.
