Erika’s contract with the network is up, and she is ready to spill all the details of what it’s like being on TLC’s hit show. She has been asked many times if the show is scripted. And now, she can finally reveal her experience being on the show. So, is the show fake?
According to Erika Owens, she and her ex-girlfriend, Stephanie Matto, weren’t given a script. No one told them what to say. However, the 90 Day Fiance reality star feels there was a lot of manipulation.
She explains that production would try to gain their trust and discover their insecurities. She thinks that they would use that information against them.
Erika Blames Drama on Production
Erika Owens reveals that the production found out that Stephanie Matto felt insecure about her friends. However, at the time, she didn’t know about it.
So, when production asked her to have a party with all her friends, she agreed to it. She thought it would be fun and that Stephanie would like to meet her friends.
However, a lot of drama came from that party. Stephanie was not happy to be around Erika’s friends and people she had potentially slept with. She even stormed off, which sparked many fights between the 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days pair.
Erika feels that the production is good at determining how they can get what they want from a couple. She thinks they can get the cast members to say and do what they want.

Erika Owens feels that it’s a scripted storyline by the producers. However, she explains that the cast members don’t know the storyline while filming.
Even though they weren’t told much, she feels that they were put into positions where they would react in a way they usually wouldn’t.
Erika thinks it’s “gross” that production would put people in these situations who might “mentally not be in the best place” or are young and vulnerable.
The 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days reality star also feels that all reality television takes advantage of people in vulnerable positions. She says that these networks pay their cast members “next to nothing while they make millions.”
However, Erika understands that this is what she signed up for. But it doesn’t mean she thinks it’s right. She has dealt with a lot of hate over the years for her appearance on the show.
