90 Day Fiance‘s Colt Johnson wants to take part in advocacy work. He wants to raise awareness regarding abused husbands. Colt’s mother Debbie Johnson spoke with Soap Dirt recently. She said that after all the drama and legal issues are behind him, Colt wants to pursue advocacy work. What’s the latest on the software engineer?
90 Day Fiance: Colt Johnson an Abused Husband?
Debbie Johnson recently confirmed that Colt suffered spousal abuse at the hands of Larissa Christina. Her three arrests for domestic violence against Colt Johnson seem to give weight to this claim. Added to what Debbie Johnson revealed, it certainly seems like Colt was the victim of domestic abuse in each of the three instances.
Debbie said that Colt would like to pursue some advocacy support work once his divorce and all Christina’s legal issues are behind him. 90 Day Fiance viewers will know more once all of this is in the past. Debbie said that Colt has up to a year to file charges related to the previous domestic violence incidents as well. Keeping that in mind, these may drag on for some time.

Male Abuse By the Numbers
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) says that 25 percent of men have been the victim of “some form of physical violence by an intimate partner”. In addition, one in seven have been subject to “severe physical violence”. Advocacy group Domestic Shelters says that men are just as likely to be psychologically abused by an intimate partner.
Often, male victims of abuse suffer in silence. There’s a stigma attached to being an abused male. 90 Day Fiance star Colt Johnson isn’t exactly the most masculine of men in the traditional sense. He is soft-spoken and has a demure temperament. Meanwhile, Larissa is loud and outspoken. It’s not difficult to imagine Larissa’s force of personality taking charge in most situations.
While there’s certainly a lot that went on behind the scenes that 90 Day Fiance viewers don’t know about, there’s definitely enough going on in the public eye to get fans talking. Between Debbie Johnson admitting that her son was the victim of abuse and Colt looking to get involved in advocacy work, there may be more to the story.

Colt Johnson definitely put himself back on the market following his split from Larissa Christina. After a brief period of soul-searching on Instagram, he announced that he’s single and began messaging women online. Further, he’s throwing a divorce party at Crazy Horse 3 in Las Vegas on March 1. As of right now, his divorce is still pending – along with numerous legal issues with Christina. Still, it looks like Colt is committed to moving on with his life, and committed to becoming an advocate to raise domestic violence awareness.
