Benjamin Taylor had no luck dating in his hometown. So, he took to the internet to find love. However, he decided he wanted to look internationally. The 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days star met his foreign lover Akinyi Obala on an international dating website. Akinyi is from Kenya. But, the distance between the two didn’t stop them from meeting in person.
The 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days cast member flew to Kenya to meet Akinyi Obala. Benjamin Taylor was hoping to spend some alone time with his Kenyan lover. In order to get to know her. Instead, he found himself spending more time with Akinyi’s older brother, Fidel. Benjamin had to convince Fidel that he is the perfect match for his sister.
The TLC Couple Marries in Kenya?
Akinyi Obala was heartbroken when her father didn’t show up to meet Benjamin Taylor. Eventually, her father did end up giving the couple his blessing. In order to marry Akinyi, Benjamin had to pay a bride price. Benjamin was completely out of his comfort zone during the negotiation on 90 Day Fiance. But, in the end, he agreed to continue to give her father money. At least until her father felt like the dowry was fully paid.
The 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days celeb seemingly married Benjamin Taylor in a traditional Kenyan wedding. But, their marriage may not be valid in America. Though, there is a chance that Benjamin might not be married to Akinyi Obala at all. Previous reports said that he must finish paying the dowry before a wedding can happen. Since he didn’t pay the full amount there couldn’t have been a wedding in Kenya.

Akinyi Obala is currently still living in Kenya and Ben Taylor is back in the states. Akinyi often shares updates on her life on social media. Although, she doesn’t post much about her relationship with Benjamin Taylor. The last photo of the two she shared was in October. Perhaps, Akinyi is waiting for the approval of her K-1 visa before sharing any updates about Benjamin.
Benjamin Taylor talks often of his wife from 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days and their future. There seems to be no reason for fans to think that the two are no longer together. So, fans are wondering when Akinyi will be coming to America. One asked Ben, “when will she be in AZ with you?” Benjamin replied, “this is unknown.” Although, he would love to have his Kenyan bride by his side in America. Perhaps, fans will see the two on a future seasons.
