1000-lb Sisters personality Tammy Slaton is taking a long way around to her weight loss goal. She started off on a straight path at first. Both she and her sister Amy Slaton started off so big they could only be weighed by a junkyard scale. So they both really had no clue what to expect when stepping on the scale. That’s not to say they didn’t have any good guesses.
Amy came in at just over 400 pounds saying that number made her feel like a truck. Tammy tried to comfort her and felt the pain of seeing a number just over 600 when she stepped up. So both sisters got to work trying to bring their numbers down drastically. They both say that they want to try gastric bypass surgery. But when Amy lost weight, Tammy gained. Tammy is now 665 pounds.

1000-lb Sisters features Tammy Slaton and her sister Amy Slaton. Both are trying to lose weight and become healthier people. A few months into losing weight, Amy was approved for her gastric bypass surgery. However, Tammy wasn’t. Even though they were in this together, Amy went ahead and got the surgery, thinking Tammy wasn’t far behind because she was almost at her goal weight that would get her approved.
That’s when COVID-19 hit and everything shut down. Tammy wasn’t able to get her surgery even though she had gotten low enough. She was told she would have to wait until after quarantine. So why did she not get the surgery?

Tammy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters has had a huge transformation. But instead of getting better, she declined. Quarantine due to COVID-19 was hard, so she gave up on diet and exercise. Her doctor even recommended that she see a completely different medical professional so someone closer can watch her. Sadly that did not help. Tammy went from what she said was 550 pounds all the way up to 665 pounds. This is gaining a total of 115 pounds in a matter of months.
Her family is concerned about her weight and encouraged her to go to a facility for treatment. But Tammy almost refused. It is always hard for her to talk about her weight or to have other people do it. But something has to be done soon, or she will die. Her mother already purchased a double plot for her because she is so big.
